BIOGRAPHY
Kenneth Lampl received his D.M.A. in composition from the Juilliard School in New York City and is currently the Associate Chairman of the Music Department at Hofstra University. His first international recognition came with the winning of the Prix Ravel in composition at the American Conservatory in Fontainbleau, France. Many awards soon followed including four ASCAP Composer Awards, two New Jersey State Council for the Arts Fellowships, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Awards to Young Composers, the Gretchanov Memorial Prize in Composition from the Juilliard School and fellowships from the foundations of Henry Mancini, George Gershwin, and Richard Rogers. With over twenty symphonic compositions to date, his music has been performed by such prestigious musical organizations as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Kansas City Symphony, the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra, the Delaware Symphony, the Greenville Symphony, the Juilliard Orchestra, the Jupiter Symphony and the Absolute Ensemble.
As a composer of film music, Lampl had the opportunity to work with John Williams at the Tanglewood Music Festival. His film credits include music for “Pokemon: The First Movie: Mew vs Mew Two”, Pokemon Mewtwo Returns, the Academy Award winning “Six Miles of Eight Feet” and the Emmy award winning “Empty”. Lampl’s recent projects include scores to Dante Tomaselli’s “Satan’s Playground” and Justin Francis’ “The Way Down”.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Hofstra University: Associate Chairman of the Music Department, Director of Music Technology and Music Business Program, 2002- present. Instructor of Introduction to Electronic Music, Advanced Electronic Music, Music Technology for Music Education, Music Industry and Music Appreciation. Duties include coordination and administration of the Music Department, Music Technology and Music Business Program; maintenance, management and budgeting of the computer music lab and recording studio.
The Juilliard School: Adjunct Professor of Music Theory, 1996-1999. Instructor of Graduate and Undergraduate Counterpoint in the Baroque and Renaissance styles as well as Graduate Analysis and Fundamentals of Musicianship for Undergraduates. Duties included selection of course materials, creation of syllabus, lecturing, and grading.
Rutgers the State University: Adjunct Instructor, 1998. Orchestration. Selected course materials and created syllabus. Duties included lecturing, grading, and meeting with students.
The International Festival for Art and Musical Education: Director of Jazz Studies, 1996-1997. Instructor of Jazz Theory, Improvisation and Solfege as well as director of the Jazz Ensemble. Duties included designing the curriculum and selection of course materials, coordinating program, lecturing and overseeing performing ensembles.
The American Festival for the Arts: Director of Education, 1994-1995. Designed and implemented education programs for weeklong residencies for a touring music festival.
The New Jersey Summer Arts Institute: Director of Jazz Studies and Music Theory, 1991-1995. Coordinator of Jazz Program and instructor of Theory, Solfege and Saxophone. Duties included designing curriculum and selection of course material, lecturing, and conducting Festival Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble.
